Golden 240Z Windshield Wiper Blades?????

Are these items NLA? Is there some other reason that they could possibly be worth this kind of money??

I don't know if they are NLA or not, but I sure know they aren't worth that kind of money... unless someone is doing a 100 point concours restoration.....:cross-eye

Bluntly; they're extremely rare.

Dozens upon dozens of Z owners would replace their wiper blades with complete new wiper blade ARM refills. Just like you see at any Target, Shell, Local Auto shop. All in the name of convenience rather than take the extra couple minutes per blade to slide out the old rubber and slide in a new rubber.

You can ~sometimes~ find them in the bone yard, but usually they're bent, rusted or you find one but not another. Unfortunately, the original blade holders for the 240's are VERY distinctive and almost impossible to find something ~similar~.

Granted, for $150 you REALLY must want them, OR you don't care about the money.

I found a pair in the boneyard. That and a several other pieces, ended up costing me $20 bucks. Guess I got a good deal.

I confess, I confess... I ALWAYS replace the entire blade, never just the insert. But then that is because usually when I replace the wiper blades the old ones were crushed by the weight of snow and ice that built up on it...

But seriously, I would never have even known that there was such a thing as an original240Z wiper blade...

I bought a new set from MSA a year ago - exactly the same part in the same Nissan boxes. I think I paid $40 for the pair. Are they not available anymore?

Just the madness that can beset people on e-Bay.

You get into the thick of things, the minutes and seconds are starting to tick down to the end of the auction and a closed mind mentality of "I'm going to win this auction if it kills me!" sets in and before you know it you've bid $5 for a 50¢ item.

I don't know if they're rare or not. Has anyone checked with either the Dealer (Nissan) or MSA or V/B to see if they're still available?

But this is nothing more than a perfect example of Auction Madness.

The add says they are for 1975-76, so they are probably not the "correct" ones for a 70-74 240Z/260Z.
