One or two members here in the US have gone through this before. Most, if not all aftermarket springs are going to lower the car and have a somewhat higher spring rate(stiffer) than stock.

No one has yet found a supplier for new stock springs.

He might know of a supplier, but I think you will find the factory springs are quite possibly NLA.

Oops, just looked up the previous post, seems Banzai Motorworks has a set that is close to stock.

Thanks for the info. I had already found Arizona Z and those springs he offers look like the only option. Didn't really want the stiff ride but the ride height where we live is more important. Live several miles off highway on dirt roads with plenty of bumps, so springs that lower the car(read bottom scraping) and increase ride harshness(read washboard kidney death) are NOT fun.

I live in the Denver area. This may not help you but I have an early 260 that I removed the stock springs from and are just sitting. They're in good shape and I know the rear springs will fit but I think the front spring on the 260 are longer than the 240. If you're interested let me know. How's that Z in all the snow you guys got last week?

I don't know much about the springs on the early 260's. Maybe I'll ask on this site and see iff there is a giant difference or if it is alright to use the front springs on a 240. I would give them a try if I could use all 4. I have another question for you: Do you know of anybody with a 240 with triple Weber dcoe 40's that lives at our high altitude? Do you know anyone(mechanic, individual, etc.) up there that has worked much with Webers on these Z's. I need to change the acceleration jetting(bogs down really badly when accelerator is stomped) and was hoping to find a person who has already figured it out. It gets expensive to experiment with those jets. Hate to buy a bunch of jets that I can't use. Haven't really driven the Z on the highway yet because it's not insured or registered yet, but I can't imagine that it would do very well on the snow at all. What kind of setup do you have on your Z? Stock?

Here's the name of a guy in Westminster who is supposed to be really good with Z's, specially modified. A member here, Boholio, recommended him after having a very positive experience. If you do a search in the open discussions and put in 'Denver' you can find this tread.

My car, used to have triple webers on it before I bought it. The previous owner got rid of them because they were really inefficient and ran poorly in this altitude. I have the dual round top SU's on my car and have no complaints. I also don't have anything to compare them too but I like the way it runs. So far they've been bullet proof.

As for the springs, looking in my Haynes manual a few weeks back, the rear springs are the same for both models. The front springs on the 240z are 3/4" longer than the 260z, 15 3/4" vs. 15" if memory serves. I just overhauled my garage and can't find my manual so I'm going off memory. If this is true, you will have some aerodynamic issues with the nose being heigher than the rear end and it's ugly. I know because I accidentally reversed my new springs and that's what happened to me (nose heigher than rearend). Hopefully this helps.

I assume that was a typo and the 260z front springs are longer than the 240z. Wouldn't mind if it was the other way around and the z would have a slightly "dumped" look. Thanks. Victor. I did call this Jeff Winter about my triple Webers and he was extremely helpful and knowledgable. Answered all my questions and had a great attitude. Seems to know pretty much everything there is to know about the z. Really nice to talk to a mechanic who isn't in a rush to get rid of you when you're not paying for the information. I definitely will take the z to this guy if I need anything done. Thanks for the recommendation.
