Posted November 20, 201410 yr comment_458965 I've been doing research for a few weeks now and asking around and trying to gauge what will fit and not rub. I have an 11/70 240z with the stock rotors, hub and suspension and want to put an 8 spoke wheel such as the Watanabe's, Panasports or Rota RB's on my Z. I have narrowed it down to 15x7 wheels with a 205 size tire (heard that this is what to use for the setup I have. I was hoping for some input on the offset though. Any and all help would be appreciated and if I have my facts wrong at any point, please let me know! November 20, 201410 yr comment_458966 This may not help much but I have 15" panasports on mine, but not sure of the width or aspect ratio. I like the look, it doesn't fill up the wheel well as much as some of the 16" setups I've seen. With low aspect performance tires my total wheel/tire combo has a smaller diameter that stock which impacts my speedo. Love the look though Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50460-wheels-beating-a-dead-horse/#findComment-458966 Share on other sites
November 20, 201410 yr comment_458967 That should be a 0 offset. I have a15x7 0 offset with 225s on my race car and it doesn't rub. I'm running coil overs and rolled fender lips but 205s should clear everything on a stock Z. November 20, 201410 yr comment_458974 15x7 215/60/15 No rubbing but my rear wheel wells are rolled. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50460-wheels-beating-a-dead-horse/#findComment-458974 Share on other sites
November 20, 201410 yr comment_458975 The wheels that came with my car rubbed, and I skinnied down a bit. Here is the relevant thread: http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/33495-wheel-rubbing/ I'm still happy with my tires. I haven't had any rubbing problems, and the steering is much easier with a slightly narrower tire (closer to stock dia and width, but on a 15x7 wheel). November 21, 201410 yr comment_458988 15X7, zero offset, with 205/50-15 fits fine on our 73. No rubbing, no rolling fenders, it simply fits. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50460-wheels-beating-a-dead-horse/#findComment-458988 Share on other sites
November 21, 201410 yr comment_458991 It is the front lower valance on a stock Z that you have to worry about IF the car is lowered. ON stock springs you would probably be okay. I had to run 205/55/15's. OR 195/60/15's. 205/60/15s rubbed when I turned and backed out. Just keep it a bit conservative and you will be fine. November 21, 201410 yr Author comment_459008 The closest thing to 0 offset I seem to see is +4... does anyone know if MSA's 15x7 wheels are all zero offset? November 21, 201410 yr comment_459012 Here's what I'm waiting for, http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findWheelDetail.do?bp=4-114.30&fl=&pc=45470&counter=1&wd=15&rw=7They've been out of stock for a month at least but promised me they will have them before Christmas.I'm sure MSA would have 0 offset too. Call them, ask about their holiday sales. They're doing a 3 part sale.
