Signature Pic Troubles

so on this new site my signature picture is gone and when i try to edit it and re-insert the picture i hit a dead end.

the only tool i can find is the "image" button in the little tool box above the edit window (the little blue/white square below the smiley face emoticon) but when i click it, i just get a box that  says "image properties" and the opportunity to insert a url address... but my pics are on my computer - not online.

 

am i completely stupid??

 

ok, don't answer that - just tell me how to put a !@#$% picture in my signature...

If you need an alternative, get a free flickr account. Put your pic there. That's where I host most of the pictures on my blogs, though I use a paid account to get more space.

Rossiz,

1, Go to you name in the upper left corner in the box and click in that.

2, go to my settings.

3, go to signature.

4, In the box where you have SIG SIG, remove those and leave you curser there.  Go to the My Media button just above with all the tools.

5. Your media will open and go to "Attachments" on the left.

6. find the picture you want and click it.  Close the box.

7, You can cut "Ctrl X" and move it to where you wantr it in the line of info in your signature.

mgood - thanks for the help, but unfortunately it's still no-go.

the problem is that "attachments" under "my media" only shows images i've uploaded into threads. i can't find a way to actually browse my mac to find the pics that are on my hard drive.

 

i've been using forums of many kinds for years and never had this problem - in fact, on the previous incarnation of this forum, when you clicked on the "image" icon in the tools at the top, you had the option to either browse your computer or enter a url.

 

why is this so difficult?

clearly i'm missing something obvious here...

It look like you have to add images in a post of some kind.  Try this.

 

1. go to post you want to comment in.

2. at bottom right click "more reply options"

3. at bottom left "attach file"  - BROWSE - your computer.

4. select attach file, it should show up in your "My Media" fules then.

5. if your don't want to finish the new pose just use the back arrow at the top of you browser and your back out of the pose of hit Cancel where it says Add Reply.

 

Try it I did and it worked for me.
