Posted March 11, 200322 yr comment_29370 I was hoping you guys might be able to clear something up for me. I read that by putting the carb intake manifold on your 240 it may increase the hp by a tad. Has anyone done this and does it make a difference? If not a HP gain is there a benifit to swapping out the stock 240z's for the 74 260's? Also is there any place that lists the carb intake manifolds model number that was on the different years of z's. I wondering about this so I would be able to tell if I was buying the right one. March 11, 200322 yr comment_29372 Bart, do a search on the site. This one has been talked about in many many previous discussions and there is a plethora of useful information out there pertaining to model numbers on intakes and carb's Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/5064-carb-intake-manifold/#findComment-29372 Share on other sites
March 11, 200322 yr comment_29388 and it will help your Z breathe better on a stock engine. no real power gains unless you have done some work to your engine. like said previously do a search it was discussed to some extent before. March 12, 200322 yr Author comment_29475 I searched and found a ton of valuable info, I will be sure to do a complete search before asking questions in the future. Though I still have a question after doing my searching and was wondering if anyone could help. I read about the N33 manifold which from my reading appears to be found stock on 1973 240Z's. Then the N36 was found on all 260's. Someone mentioned in one post that I found that the N33 and the N36 were essentially the same thing. How true is this. I am assuming that sticking an N33 on there would bring me the same benifits as sticking an N36 on my 240z. Is the assumption correct or would there still be another benifit to having a N36 or a N33?Also it seemed that the majority opinion on the N36 regarding HP was that only a highly modified engine would benifit a HP increase. If this is true would the same car experience the same thing from an N33 and if so how close would the benifits be compared to the N36.Thank You all,Bart1971 204Z Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/5064-carb-intake-manifold/#findComment-29475 Share on other sites
April 5, 200321 yr comment_32765 you ansered your own question the 33 and 36 are the same. here is a vary good web site for this kind of info. geocities.com/zgarage2001/engine.htm I doubt that you would be able to feel the difference between the manifold that you are useing now and either the 33 or 36 . On a dino maybe. try the web site there is a ton of information there . July 9, 200321 yr comment_43224 I read on the site beandip provided that the N36 only came on the 260Z. Does anyone know if this is accurate? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/5064-carb-intake-manifold/#findComment-43224 Share on other sites
July 9, 200321 yr comment_43231 I was told by my engine builder that they consitantly got 8-10 more hp on the bench test, with the N36, on their modified L6 motors. Of coarse they bored my N36 out, along with the carbs. I assume they just flow better. I've only seen them on 260Z's. July 9, 200321 yr comment_43234 here is the plate. My other late 73 had an N36 too. Maybe late 240zs and 260z had these manifolds. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/5064-carb-intake-manifold/#findComment-43234 Share on other sites
July 9, 200321 yr comment_43241 I have a N36 Intake manifold that I'd be willing to trade to someone for an E88 Intake manifold that is in similar good condition. I don't really need it and I'd be just as happy with an E88 for my car.If anyone is interested, send me a PM.********EDIT********* The offered N36 Intake is no longer available. Traded it for a E88 today 7-13-2003 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/5064-carb-intake-manifold/#findComment-43241 Share on other sites
