Several sources show Centric #160.88031 as the re-man unit.  You might search for this if you strike out on getting yours rebuilt.  Have you checked with brake shops in your area?  A few years ago a re-build was about $100-125 in the Dallas area.

hmmmm.  price is good, almost too good.

a little concerned that none of the big chains carry this product or brand, its only available through online retailers like jcwhitney and partsgeek. need to research this one a bit.

i called a few shops in town and they suggested

- WhitePost in Northern Va ($500)

- Apple Hydraulics in NY  (no price yet)

both of these shops rebuild your own and send it back to you. more expensive, but at least i know it will fit perfectly.

Walked into Oreilly auto and asked for one.  About 100 bucks and 2 days later i had a perfectly functioning booster that looks brand new.  in addition to being rebuilt internally it was sand blasted and repainted on every surface.  Everything left in the engine bay looks terrible, but that booster looks good:

I painted mine black and tried to remove that red sticker from the original and glue it on but it tore before I got it all.  Mine came from rockauto.com though but I'm really starting to like O'Reilly's.

i've noticed that different years had different drum sizes.

the one on my 260 is 7 1/2 - 8 inches in diameter, but none of the vendors are including the dimensions so its difficult to tell what they are shipping.

just called oreilly and they had none listed.

I have an early 1974 which is an 8" booster.  Special order, but listed on their website:

    Part Number: 53-5104

the joys of 260 ownership...

according to a post on hybridz the bolt patterns changed a few times between 70 and 75, so what 'fits' on one year may not fit another.

add to that the booster diameter varied with year and model (coupe/2+2).

the 53-5104 model sold under various brand names at different stores pretty consistently states that this will not fit the 260.

the centric 160.88031 is the only one advertised as fitting on a 74.

rockauto wins, but i'll eat the core charge and hang on to mine just in case.
