February 7, 201510 yr comment_463167 Hi Mark, Welcome to the club. You're fortunate to have sourced such a treasure...right place/right time; not to mention having your Dad's wisdom at hand. As an original owner of a '71, like a few other members, I'm curious to know the production date and serial number. Wishing you lots of enjoyment George Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50900-second-owner-of-a-71-240z/?&page=2#findComment-463167 Share on other sites

February 8, 201510 yr comment_463181 Sweet looking car and great find. Nothing against the mod but I'll counter the electronic ignition item with this: my car has 95k miles, still the original dizzy and fresh points, rotor, ...etc. Its runs great and dependably pulls all the way to high RPM's; it is strictly a street car. For track, AX, or other events the electronic ignition may be the way to go. +1 on the VIN and build date question above.Great looking car. I am with Jim on this. I love the simple old school ignition. You just keep a few spares with you and you always get home.
