wheee! Posted February 7, 2017 Author Share #1094 Posted February 7, 2017 Finished the frame rail support. Finished the welds and cleaned things up. Doesn't look like a lot of progress but it was a couple hours of welding and grinding!
Captain Obvious Posted February 7, 2017 Share #1095 Posted February 7, 2017 Beautiful. And may I be first to suggest that it's "built like a tank"?
wheee! Posted February 7, 2017 Author Share #1096 Posted February 7, 2017 My other ride is a tank... 65 degrees Celsius and 30 hours into a road move with no stopping with enemy contact throughout.... not in my happy place!

wheee! Posted February 8, 2017 Author Share #1100 Posted February 8, 2017 I'm looking forward to the primer stage. The metal looks ugly like this!

wheee! Posted February 8, 2017 Author Share #1102 Posted February 8, 2017 So I made a boo boo with the bulldog end I fabricated on the passenger side. It was a good shape and proper size, I just welded it on to the existing metal a little too low (towards the street) and the fender did not mount flush. I had to cut out about 3/8" of metal from the middle of the piece and reweld it together. It turned out great so I am happy but disappointed I didn't catch it before I welded it in before...You can see how the "bump" is higher than the rocker panel. They should be the same with an indent in the middle of the bulldog. The pictures in the previous posts show it rewelded in properly.
wheee! Posted February 8, 2017 Author Share #1103 Posted February 8, 2017 (edited) This enlarged area is where the change was made. Note the red line is now in line with the rocker profile. I will get a better picture tonight. The second picture shows the blue line where I cut across the bulldog and removed about 3/8' of metal and then rejoined the two together. This shot shows how far off I was... Edited February 8, 2017 by wheee!
