Lacquer is easy to work with and very forgiving but really not used much anymore because of lack of durability... Again, mine is a water based mix so that may have some play here but I'm not sure. It DOES look very close to the 2335 on the nose of the fender (to which I am partial) The other colours I sprayed look nothing like their paint chip samples either! That's what I mean by lighting makes such a difference. The 240 color can go dark or light depending on light quality. Direct sunlight will make it dance, if it's cloudy it's just........green. June 26, 20177 yr comment_524082 Another vote for 2335. 240 is second, but a little dark IMHO. Too much blue/turquoise in the others. June 26, 20177 yr Author comment_524092 The other two were wild cards. The paint chips looked good in the catalog but I'm not digging the test sprays! I may end up spraying some new test strips. June 26, 20177 yr comment_524121 I am digging the 2335 as well. Very Nice! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50908-1976-280z-restoration-project/?&page=114#findComment-524121 Share on other sites
June 26, 20177 yr comment_524123 I am very partial to a dark green car, and I think if I ever decide to paint a car myself I'd decide on something similar to the darkest green you have sampled. Look forward to seeing what you go with Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50908-1976-280z-restoration-project/?&page=114#findComment-524123 Share on other sites
June 27, 20177 yr Author comment_524129 Thanks for the feedback everyone! I am humbly impressed with the quality of the test panel. Without taking any real steps to prevent contamination and dust, the finish looks very good! Needs a little colour sanding and maybe a third coat of clear... but, wow! June 27, 20177 yr comment_524134 The green in the font is most appealing of them. The one next to is nice, but just a bit too bright/light of a green to me.
