siteunseen Posted December 27, 2018 Share #2257 Posted December 27, 2018 An e88 with injectors. I'm curious, can't wait to read more. 8^) I've got the nissan p/n for the e88 gasket with metal on the exhaust ports. No injector cut outs though. Let me know if you want it, also the one for my n42 with cut outs. Nissan but no metal. Cliff
wheee! Posted December 27, 2018 Author Share #2258 Posted December 27, 2018 Thanks but Jim has me covered. I will need to drill the E88 for the N42 manifold and port the injection slots into the head too. The head has been performance built already and seems a shame to waste it and start fresh on the P90 I have sitting on the shelf. I can always run the E88 with carbs again in the future.
wheee! Posted January 1, 2019 Author Share #2259 Posted January 1, 2019 Picked up a bunch of toys for the shop today. Some metal punches for making slugs to fill all the rust proofing holes left in the door frames, a new welding mask (someone else made me all jealous so I bought my own...), some welding gloves, magnetic tool holders, new media blasting grit, cobalt drill bits and few other odds and ends. Jim (zKars) is coming for a visit on the 2nd so I will have some new shiny bits too! Happy New Year everyone!!!

wheee! Posted January 3, 2019 Author Share #2261 Posted January 3, 2019 (edited) So Jim arrived with goodies in hand yesterday. The shiniest part is the throttle cable wall adapter and throttle pedal ball connector. Custom made by the legend himself. Install was straight forward. It starts with a stepped piece that is threaded that aligns in the firewall for the throttle linkage. After that, the throttle cable is threaded thru and the custom end with the soldered capture ball for the throttle pedal is locked into place in the pedal ball. A few test fits and trims to make sure the pedal stops on the pedal rest and not on the cable end. Alignment was perfect with stock pedal! And a couple shots of the engine bay side. Thanks Jim! wheee! Posted January 3, 2019 Author Share #2264 Posted January 3, 2019 Repairing the holes left in the door frames by the PO rust proofing. A finish coat of fine strand fibreglass filler will seal these up nice.
wheee! Posted January 3, 2019 Author Share #2265 Posted January 3, 2019 The reason for the repairs is that I have the Skillard stainless door sills with Datsun cutout. I will have these overlaying the painted sill so the green comes thru!Example below. On a patch of painted shell for example
wheee! Posted January 3, 2019 Author Share #2266 Posted January 3, 2019 For those of you following the stroker rocker issue, the Delta regrinds arrived with Jim as well. Comparison shots below.
Zed Head Posted January 3, 2019 Share #2267 Posted January 3, 2019 Weird how warped and twisty the pattern looks on the old rocker arms. Even besides the pitting. Looks like a whole lot of wrong. Are you reusing the cam shaft? Better check the lobes closely. Check the wipe pattern there also. Nice pictures.
wheee! Posted January 3, 2019 Author Share #2268 Posted January 3, 2019 Haven’t looked at the cam yet, but Jim said it was good. I will check when I assemble of course. Here’s a couple intake shots.
