Captain Obvious Posted July 10, 2019 Share #2617 Posted July 10, 2019 My buddy did that to his car above. The headlights still mount the same way as stock. He just welded the scoops on. No other changes required.

Patcon Posted July 10, 2019 Share #2619 Posted July 10, 2019 Be sure and mount the hood before working on the buckets or fenders. Would hate to see you fix it and then have to redo it.
wheee! Posted July 10, 2019 Author Share #2620 Posted July 10, 2019 For sure. This was just a quick mount and check. I have to get the doors stripped still too. The hood looks pretty good with it just sitting on the car.
gwri8 Posted July 10, 2019 Share #2621 Posted July 10, 2019 I just noticed, but no heat shield for the intake manifold?
wheee! Posted July 11, 2019 Author Share #2622 Posted July 11, 2019 It’s in progress. I am modifying the lower shield to adapt to the throttle cable linkage

Captain Obvious Posted July 11, 2019 Share #2625 Posted July 11, 2019 I love the look. My guess is the only reason they made the headlight scoops a separate piece is they just couldn't form one sheet into the shape they wanted. Either geometrically impossible, or too much stretching for the metal to handle. I suspect if they could have successfully made the fender / scoop one piece, they would have.
wheee! Posted July 16, 2019 Author Share #2626 Posted July 16, 2019 More fun with doors. @zKars provided me with nice “looking” replacement doors for my beat up originals. The first one (passenger side) was a disappointment with a lot of bondo and mashed panel metal.
wheee! Posted July 16, 2019 Author Share #2627 Posted July 16, 2019 The original driver door was pretty bad too. Lots of welds and dents.
wheee! Posted July 16, 2019 Author Share #2628 Posted July 16, 2019 The good news was that the replacement driver door from Jim was almost perfect!
