wheee! Posted November 19, 2019 Author Share #2881 Posted November 19, 2019 Mark, I have never seen anyone do powder coat in sections with applied heat the way you do but seems like you have it down to a science, it's very impressive, you could powder coat the entire car with your technique. The "paint" would be tough as nails..... nobody told me I couldn’t! As for the whole car, the thicker the material, the harder it is to “section” coat. The thin splash pan only needs one side heated to properly cure the powder. Easy peasy.
wheee! Posted November 26, 2019 Author Share #2882 Posted November 26, 2019 A little Vintage goodness from @theguppies !And a good shot of the horrible blemish that reduced the value of this dash. However will I live with such atrocious quality? Thanks to Vintage Dashes for this awesome product at an unbelievable price.

wheee! Posted November 26, 2019 Author Share #2885 Posted November 26, 2019 Thank you for your support. I'm glad it came through without extra tax. No “extra” tax, just the assessed GST (under $25) from border services. More than fair! Thanks again for selling me your distressed and severely damaged dash that no one will ever believe is a blem...[emoji38]

Mark Maras Posted November 27, 2019 Share #2887 Posted November 27, 2019 I'm guessing it's the longitudinal ogee curve along with the tiny MOON eyes.

The dash is perfectly imperfect, just like my car!

The blem is not noticeable unless you're looking for it. I tell everyone this and it's up to them if they trust what I say. The longitudinal ogee curve you're seeing in the picture is there because the dash isn't mount onto the metal frame. Everything will be in the right place once the dash is mounted onto the metal frame.

wheee! Posted December 11, 2019 Author Share #2891 Posted December 11, 2019 Mundane body work for a while now. Hoping to have a lot of the panels done and ready to hang in a couple weeks. Doors hatch and hood to go.
wheee! Posted December 12, 2019 Author Share #2892 Posted December 12, 2019 Not perfect but a lot better than what I started with. The rear drip area had been repaired with patched metal and I really didn’t want to try installing the Tabco replacement panel. I rewelded and ground the metal and filled with fibreglas. Went over that with regular filler and smoothed it all out. Still a few irregularities but overall it will do for me.
