Zed Head Posted September 15, 2020 Share #3325 Posted September 15, 2020 Not the "tune' files, the actual "what happened" files. Here's some Megasquirt examples, below. Haltech should have the same ability. Just because you told the ECU to do something doesn't mean it actually happened. Plus, the quality of the trigger signal and it's timing should be there. You might already have data from when the engine ran, stored somewhere. Just another option. It's looking like Plug 'n' Play isn't playing. Which Haltech system are you using? 133 pages is too many to look back through. Megasquirt also has a signal simulator that can be used to verify outputs are following inputs like they should. I'm not recommending Megasquirt just saying that a company like Haltech should have similar. https://www.diyautotune.com/product/jimstim-1-5-megasquirt-stimulator-w-wheel-simulator-assembled/ https://www.efianalytics.com/MegaLogViewer/
wheee! Posted September 15, 2020 Author Share #3326 Posted September 15, 2020 Understood, however in this case the car is not running, merely turning over and backfiring a few times before dieing. I have seen the log files and can easily see the synch and home results with errors for the other tunes. The issue with the last "tune" was the meltdown instantly upon reboot of the ecu. The starter was not engaged and the car was not running. I am running the Elite 750, but while i'm getting it tuned, It is the remorte tuner who sees the screen as I am over the engine holding the remote start button and feathering the throttle body.... Captain Obvious Posted September 16, 2020 Share #3327 Posted September 16, 2020 Man that's some bad karma right there. Did one of your ancestors pisss off one of Edison's or Tesla's ancestors or something?
wheee! Posted September 16, 2020 Author Share #3328 Posted September 16, 2020 I might have said something unkind about Rotaries at one point. But I don’t see how that’s relevant.... [emoji13]
wheee! Posted September 16, 2020 Author Share #3329 Posted September 16, 2020 Here is a screen shot of the most recent data log. I feathered the throttle to keep it running a few seconds. Still misfiring and coughing but verrrrry close to a smooth run. You can see the channel colour values on the left.
Captain Obvious Posted September 16, 2020 Share #3330 Posted September 16, 2020 Yeah, I don't see how the disparaging comments about rotaries would cause this much of an issue. So I have no idea what I'm looking at with that graph. I mean, I can read the legend in the lower left, but I don't know what "normal" looks like. What's the horizontal time scale on that screen capture? It was running for minutes, seconds, a second? What's Haltech's response to this whole thing? wheee! Posted September 16, 2020 Author Share #3331 Posted September 16, 2020 That's about a ten second clip. Andno, I don't claim to understand it much more than you.... Other than the lines should be more linear for an engine that is idling (mine wasn't).
Captain Obvious Posted September 17, 2020 Share #3332 Posted September 17, 2020 What are the anomalous regions at the beginning and end of the run? Cranking at the beginning and struggling to run at the end?

Cranking at the beginning and struggling to run at the end? It would appear so. I am reading about filter settings to see if they can be set to allow more "noise" from the Home and Trigger signals to smooth out the engine. Captain Obvious Posted September 17, 2020 Share #3334 Posted September 17, 2020 Are you using VR pickups or Hall Effect? You probably already mentioned it, but I don't remember.
