August 23, 20177 yr comment_528693 hey mark, are you planning on running TTT tension rods in the front? if so, be careful. The TTT front tension rods will not work with the AZC short steering knuckles. It will interfere with the steering travel. Knuckle will hit the tension rod before the steering rack reaches full travel.... I found this out myself Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50908-1976-280z-restoration-project/?&page=128#findComment-528693 Share on other sites
August 23, 20177 yr Author comment_528694 hmmmm... I was indeed adding the GTX2 kit for the front LC's and tension rods... will these be an issue? I wasn't planning on using the stock TTT tension rod replacement. wasn't going to use this style... Edited August 23, 20177 yr by wheee! August 23, 20177 yr comment_528695 oh ok. The GTX model, I'm not sure. But their other version will have issues. By the looks of it, the GTX tension rod looks more similar to AZC. Should be ok Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50908-1976-280z-restoration-project/?&page=128#findComment-528695 Share on other sites
August 23, 20177 yr Author comment_528696 Thanks Taka! I was hoping to reduce the steering travel and improve the ratio a bit. I am also going with the Silvermine Power Steering kit. Overall, steering should be dramatically improved. August 24, 20177 yr comment_528797 You'll love the brake kit. Been running it for years and haven't had any issues. The hydraulic brake I wouldn't trust for nothing. I kind of miss having a parking brake. All the components have worn well and the calipers still shine up nicely.Another benefit of his top hats is that your aftermarket wheels will clear the whee bearing cap and you can actually use your wheel caps. August 24, 20177 yr Author comment_528810 Nice. I have been pestering Dave at Arizona Z Car to finish making his park brake setup too. He says he has lots of interest, just hasn't had time to build them. Maybe if we all call him and ask for a set..... August 24, 20177 yr comment_528816 Are these the parking brake calipers that you are referring to from Dave?? If so, I have installed a set on my car and can provide some guidance on the install process. Mike. August 24, 20177 yr Author comment_528817 Oooo! Please do! I have been asking for a set since February from Dave... it's on his list he says...No real installation instructions are out there I think. He just told me to get a cable setup to operate it. Stock cable doesn't work.
