February 15, 20196 yr Author comment_568442 I'm not going to rush and blame the manufacturer here. I am thinking it had to do with the Martian temperatures we have been enduring for the last month. -40 ~ -30 is not going to be helpful when the package gets dropped... If the package was cold and dropped, the packing wouldn't have helped gravity's effect on the blower fan that is suspended by the plastic housing. It would have torn free like the picture shows. That's my thought anyway. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50908-1976-280z-restoration-project/?&page=198#findComment-568442 Share on other sites
February 15, 20196 yr comment_568443 They should use a different sticker. No empty spaces would be better to me. But i bet his happened during shipping. Did you find the broken peices Mark? February 15, 20196 yr Author comment_568445 All the pieces were inside the evaporator housing. No where for them to go other than the fan box or there really... February 16, 20196 yr comment_568478 I suggested that it was a "feature". You know... Pull in some recirculated air to do a better job removing the humidity? Or something? 5 hours ago, MattSaint said: No body does QA anymore! My company laid them all of and is having the developers test their own code. We recently had a town-hall meeting with upper management to discuss the increase in escaped defects to production and the root cause... LOL!! I'm sure there is an applicable Dilbert sequence! If it makes you feel any better, that's not a unique story. The project concludes with praise and honors for the non-participants, right? I ordered it with the traditional controls to see if I could make them work. I may end up with the modern dial type as they are slimmer. Will have to see if this can be made to work. Sweet! This is what I decided to go with as well. February 19, 20196 yr Author comment_568776 They are working on a solution. It was from an eBay vendor. Local suppliers in Canada are rare and expensive.
