Mark, I have never seen anyone do powder coat in sections with applied heat the way you do but seems like you have it down to a science, it's very impressive,  you could powder coat the entire car with your technique. The "paint" would be tough as nails.

.... nobody told me I couldn’t!

 

As for the whole car, the thicker the material, the harder it is to “section” coat. The thin splash pan only needs one side heated to properly cure the powder. Easy peasy.

dunno. they disappear at different angles. The dash is perfectly imperfect, just like my car!

The blem is not noticeable unless you're looking for it. I tell everyone this and it's up to them if they trust what I say. 

 

The longitudinal ogee curve you're seeing in the picture is there because the dash isn't mount onto the metal frame. Everything will be in the right place once the dash is mounted onto the metal frame.

Mundane body work for a while now.



Hoping to have a lot of the panels done and ready to hang in a couple weeks. Doors hatch and hood to go.

Not perfect but a lot better than what I started with. The rear drip area had been repaired with patched metal and I really didn’t want to try installing the Tabco replacement panel. I rewelded and ground the metal and filled with fibreglas. Went over that with regular filler and smoothed it all out. Still a few irregularities but overall it will do for me.
