So, he has past all the other tests and now he is allowed to work on your Zed[emoji3][emoji3][emoji3] Mark, Good to see you back at. Enjoy.Yup! One of the tests was providing me another grandson on October 7th! He's a good father and fellow car enthusiast. He bought an old Skyline GTR for his first car (which he promptly wrote off).... now he drives a minivan.....He is also a professional welder. That helps too... November 3, 20168 yr Author comment_505852 Did some more welding tonight. Well, my son in law did at least. I worked on cleaning up the nacelle pieces from a donor car. Still need the centre splitter. The sand blaster is a huge help. November 7, 20168 yr comment_506008 Looks familiar. You gonna media blast the rust around the seam (left side of last pic)? That's what kept me awake at night on my project. Worrying that there was some source of hidden rust between a seam or something waiting to pop up. November 7, 20168 yr Author comment_506019 The interior has already been blasted. That is flash rust and it will be cleaned up after the rest of the welding is done... November 7, 20168 yr Author comment_506033 Looking at the original photo and the car, what you might be seeing is some of the seam filler that is still in place as well. It is rust coloured and brown in a lot of places. That will be cleaned out and replaced as well. November 8, 20168 yr Author comment_506070 No pictures tonight but I cut the footwell section out and formed a corner piece that was needed. Tacked it in for Travis (son in law) to finish weld. Very happy with the progress! Good solid metal to work with!
