Zed Head Posted April 24, 2016 Share #337 Posted April 24, 2016 I marked the mark location. It looks fully retarded I think. Rotation is counterclockwise and when you turn the dizzy, you're moving the pickup. So yours shows the pickup moved away from the reluctor as it rotates, which would be delayed or retarded.

For me and my teenage buddies it was "Monty Python and the The Holy Grail". My Mom had a VHS tape of it. We spit our cookies and milk () out when he cut off the Black Night's arm. "tis but a scratch".
Redwing Posted April 24, 2016 Share #339 Posted April 24, 2016 Do you remember "The Firesign Theater"? Or is that too old for you?

I had to google.com that, so it's a little before my time. I don't remember any "comedy records" from my youth, we had a VCR as big as a microwave. I did like Peter Sellers in The Pink Panther though. I grew up in the 70s.

siteunseen Posted April 24, 2016 Author Share #342 Posted April 24, 2016 My new remanufactured distributor is in need of adjustment according to Blue's rebuild. I don't have equal spacing between the reluctor and stator. Thanks @Blue Mine looks like this, And it should look like this, Another day, another problem. But I'm glad to get it right now instead of later and I need something easy to do and get off my back and feet, yesterday I was under the car all day. Today I have knots on my forehead! and transmission fluid in my ear.
siteunseen Posted April 24, 2016 Author Share #343 Posted April 24, 2016 To follow up, for mine pointing to #1 and adjustment screw centered, they equaled out at .015" on my feeler gauge.
Zed Head Posted April 24, 2016 Share #344 Posted April 24, 2016 Was it off because of a loose bushing or they just didn't set it right? Funny how they can say "rebuilt" but leave the new parts set for self-destruction.
siteunseen Posted April 24, 2016 Author Share #345 Posted April 24, 2016 It came to me set wrong. I put it on and ran it for a month like that. Quality control is left up to us I suppose.
siteunseen Posted April 25, 2016 Author Share #346 Posted April 25, 2016 This doesn't mean much after hearing about John's passing but we have to keep trudging along in this life. Ups and downs. I stopped for a new set of plugs before firing it up. Now I'll wait until in the morning.
