February 13, 201510 yr comment_463469 "I didn't get a harrumph out of dat guy." I was going to just say "Harrumph!" but I was afraid someone might think I disagreed. It's nice to have someone who's got my back on almost all the screwy references I post up here! In fact, I can only remember two that seem to have gone completely without recognition. In fact, I can only remember two that seem to have gone completely without recognition. Okay, now I'm curious. I've watched a lot of television and movies in my life and have a pretty good memory but some things don't click right away when I have something on my mind. Blazing Saddles, Caddyshack, The Jerk and The Holy Grail were what grew up with. "the way y'all are lollygagging around here you'd think it was a hunnert and semteen degrees. Can't be but a hunnert and twelve." Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50924-240z-makes-buy-em-now-list/?&page=2#findComment-463487 Share on other sites
February 14, 201510 yr comment_463551 Haha! I'll see if I can dig up those two. Here's a Life of Brian reference that flew unnoticed. Near the bottom of page 2 of this thread:http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/40777-spindle-pin-removal-tool-survey/page-2 And this mention of an aborigine's armpit was the other reference that was never called out. It's also Monty Python, but it's been so long that even I don't remember the origin. You lucky bastard. Australian table wine taste like an aborigine's armpit? Some of these Kwik-E-Marts around here have that armpit smell taste like Apu's. February 15, 201510 yr comment_463654 Yes, and yes! Lucky, lucky bastard and Australian table wines. I did a little web searching and found (what is probably) the text from that wine skit. It also identified the source as a record (yes, a RECORD) they put out in 1972 called "Monty Python's Previous Record" - 1972. http://www.phespirit.info/montypython/australian_table_wines.htm We are so far off the path of this thread I hope the OP can forgive us. :: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50924-240z-makes-buy-em-now-list/?&page=2#findComment-463654 Share on other sites
September 6, 20159 yr comment_477110 Since Hagerty published the 'Cars to Buy Now' article this past February, the average values of #1 and #2 Condition 240Zs have soared, with #3 a nice little bump and #4 Condition cars a small nudge. September 6, 20159 yr comment_477117 Be careful what you wish for. The appreciation will be a double-edged sword making NOS and used parts spike in price due to rampant speculation. September 7, 20159 yr comment_477134 All good for the nostalgic Z, values are getting up and availability of good specimens low, but if Jay Leno gets one on his herd then the Z will be in the ranks . I agree prices are rising but are they really that high now? As others have said the cost of parts will rise too but hopefully the increased values will bring more quality reproduction parts on to the market. September 7, 20159 yr comment_477175 Here's a link to a slightly different Hagerty article than what NVZEE originally posted that ranks the 240Z #5 out of the top 5 cars to buy in 2015: https://www.hagerty.com/articles-videos/Articles/2015/02/27/Cars-To-Buy-In-2015 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50924-240z-makes-buy-em-now-list/?&page=2#findComment-477175 Share on other sites
