That's great you found it!  I can only imagine the smile on your face driving that sharp car home from Texas.  Very good looking car.

You'll see most folks on here won't take the time to bash people with common questions, when it takes longer to gripe than just typing something that might help, that's pretty stupid.

I got it guys!!!!!! thank y'all so much for guiding me through so i didn't loose my sanity!! it was the relays and the hack job of wiring that caused it.

What did you find?  You might be back in two days.

We like to know the details, otherwise it's like watching a movie with no ending.

Plus, it will help out the guy or gal with a similar problem, in the future.

beautiful car - love the color.

glad it's running again - but like zed said, details are helpful, as they will allow this thread to be useful to someone else.

this forum is great for it's wealth of knowledge and helpful culture.

now that you found some hack wiring, it's a good idea to spend a few hours going through the entire system one harness at a time and clean/check/fix for long term reliability. do one wire path at a time, start/run/test, then move on - this way if you make a mistake or there is a problem you will know it's the last thing you touched. i'm not an electrical guy, so i've learned to use this "feel in the dark" method of isolating systems. others are good with testing equipment and meters - i can't seem to make heads or tails of 'em...

There's something about the formats and layouts of the various forums that affects the replies, I think.  The zcar.com forum tends to make a person cranky.  It's primitive and clunky and dull, and leads to irritated responses.  Hybridz seems more serious and, like serious people do, leads to simple questions being ignored. This forum is just generally pleasing to use and look at and has that affect on the replies.

It will be disappointing though when Davidz1911 comes back with another problem.  I'm going to guess that the AFM plug was loose and the engine was only getting idle speed fuel from the ECU.

IMHO the crankiness at zcar.com relates to the fact that people get a Z car (or maybe even before they get one) just type in zcar.com. There seems to be an influx of those types of people around times that schools go on break. They ask "gimme" type questions, refuse to research, and frequently reject correct answers. Usually to find this site, a person actually has to do at least a little bit of searching to find the URL.

As for David's problem, I thought I saw that he said he restored wiring to stock, and it worked. Since he was talking about a mass of blue wires, I suspect he was looking around the EFI relay.
