Posted February 25, 201510 yr comment_464372 I've done a search and can't find anything so this must be a dumb question. Anyway, My battery was just stiiting in tray without a proper hold down. I've looked at pictues and figure it will be easy to fabricate a bracket. My question is where does the J-bolt hook to? I see the firewall attachment point but don't see anywhere on the battery shelf designed for the J-bolt. Was it meant to just hook to the lip of the shelf? Seems mickey mouse to me. I guess I could weld a bracket to the shelf with some holes to hook to. February 25, 201510 yr comment_464374 It just hooks under the protruding lip forward of the battery tray. Since my battery is shorter than the original, I added a painted one inch board under the battery to bring it up to the height of the firewall attachment point for the top hold down frame.Dennis Edited February 25, 201510 yr by psdenno Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/51009-battery-hold-down-question/#findComment-464374 Share on other sites

February 25, 201510 yr comment_464379 My J bolt hooks into one of the bottom front facing holes in the base like Dennis says. The top of the battery's bracket, opposite of the J bolt, screws into the firewall. All nice and tight. The only thing than I worry about is the draining tube comes loose from the bottom tray. I've used zip-ties before but this time I'll use to twisted wire. I'm scared it has ruined my fuel lines under there with rust.
