Posted March 13, 200322 yr comment_29674 Hello and help!!! I am restoring my Z for the third time and it's time to change out the belts. Does anyone know if 280 style belts with retractor can be retrofitted into a 70 Z? Thanks very much!!!:classic: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/5102-seatbelts-for-240/ Share on other sites
March 20, 200322 yr comment_30690 I'm in the process of doing this. However, the lap retractor from the 280 does not fit into the pocket of the 240. The shoulder retractor from the 280 may be installed somehow either on the rear strut tower, or the original mounting location abover the quarter window. You'll have to keep the 240 lap belt and retractor, unsew the buckle, and sew in the 280 buckle in, so that it all becomes one unit.Do a quick search on zcar.com. There are several posts regarding this issue within the last 60 days. No pics yet.Good luck. March 20, 200322 yr comment_30700 You can't use the 240 retractor...the 70 model doesn't have one. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/5102-seatbelts-for-240/#findComment-30700 Share on other sites
