March 20, 20159 yr Author comment_466063 Good news, I called Power Torque (Central ), and discussed the issue with this part # for the earlier Z cars. The guy on the phone (Dave) was suprised to hear about the difference in measurement from earlier and later models, and glad I called this to his attention. He went to the warehouse and grabbed two new kits and confirmed that they indeed did not include the carrier. We discussd how without the carrier, this kit is useless to owners of earlier models. He is making changes in the packaging to include the carrier, or at least make it avail. Innthe mean time, he is shiping me a new carrier overnight at no charge. Can't say enough about how impressed I am with the customer service I recieved today. They deffinatley earned any future buisness I can give them ;o) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/51128-clutch-issues/?&page=3#findComment-466063 Share on other sites

March 20, 20159 yr comment_466069 The information out there is sometimes very confusing when doesn't need to be. Even the MSA site quotes a useless 1-1/2" total distance and what you need is the clutch fork pivot point to the back of the bearing.http://www.thezstore...c22b02d/21-2122 Thanks for taking the measurements. I have the measurements for mine somewhere and will add them to the collection for the 280Z. PressureplateMeasurements.pdf Chas Edited March 20, 20159 yr by EuroDat Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/51128-clutch-issues/?&page=3#findComment-466069 Share on other sites
March 20, 20159 yr comment_466076 Shows that it's worth a shot to let these guys know what's going on.  I called a company once about "replacement CV shafts for the 240Z" and it turned out that somebody in the company had just assumed that all of the Z's and ZX's used the same drive system, because they were all IRS. They reproduced the later ZX shafts and started advertising for all cars.  He was surprised too, but may not have been able to stop the bad info from spreading - http://www.discountautoparts.com/autopages/NISSAN-240Z-CV-Axle.html  Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/51128-clutch-issues/?&page=3#findComment-466076 Share on other sites

Can't thank Dave at power torque (perfection clutch) enough for his great customer service. My girl shifts smoother than ever and with the new rebuild on the motor and transmission, is a joy to drive. Next up is the suspension and exhaust.Great to have people who actually care about their product and customers Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/51128-clutch-issues/?&page=3#findComment-466323 Share on other sites
