Posted March 25, 20159 yr comment_466426 Ladies and gents - I have a restored, stock 1971 240Z. What are your suggestions for a long lasting stock appearance on the exhaust manifolds. The rest of the engine bay looks great but the manfolds go brown pretty quick. thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/51178-refinishing-exhaust-manifold-for-stock-appearance/ Share on other sites

March 25, 20159 yr comment_466431 I bead blast mine to metal and have them ceramic coated. If you don't want to spend the $$$$ for ceramic coating, bead blast and paint with VHT. May 29, 20159 yr comment_470832 I just had mine ceramic coated. Good to 1300 degree F. No high temp paints lasted long for me. May 29, 20159 yr comment_470838 Regardless of the finish its all about the preparation work. Need to remove rust, grease, and other gunk that's baked on for the past 40+ years Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/51178-refinishing-exhaust-manifold-for-stock-appearance/#findComment-470838 Share on other sites
May 29, 20159 yr comment_470840 lumensDid a powder coater do that for you? Yes, there is a Company that does powder and ceramic coating about 20 miles from me. After getting it back and looking it over, I thought why didn't I grind off all the casting edgesif going this far? It would not have taken too long. Too late now.
