I think that slogan was very relevant prior to 1970 here in the US. That was a time when “price” was actually related to “quality”.  Also a time when Brand Name was a reliable indication of “quality”.  Today you can’t count on price nor Brand Name to give an indication of the quality of the product. So we need a new slogan..

 

“Just because it is expensive - it doesn’t mean it is any good”

 

“Poor quality goods are everywhere.  If you want high quality - you have to seek it out”

 

Maybe still the Best:    â€œAsk the man who owns one."
