HS30 date of manufacture

I am trying to find date of manufacture of my 240 from its HS 30 serial no.

I have been told that although car was registered in early 73, it could still be Tax exempt in UK if it can be proven to be manufactured before 73.

Has anyone done this before or can anyone help.

My 1971 Z date of manufacture is posted on the door post- drivers side. Was that procedure changed by 1973? cliff

My date of registration is October 73 and it is said that the date of manufacture is normally 4 months out. So if your registration date is March 73 you may be elligible for Historic Car Classification.

Check this article out its a list of HS30 numbers with production dates. It's not that comprehensive but will give you a better idea as you can see if your numbers fall before or after the dates they supply.
