After reading the reply from 2ManyZs, I'm not sure you guys are talking about the same part.

The MSA catalog currently lists the "Lower Control Arm, Right 70-78" for $49.86. The equivalent part on the left size is listed as not currently available.

The "Tension Rod, Left/Right 70-78" is available for $110.15.

In either case, the answer to your question is "Yes".

Well George, you seem to have us confused what you mean by the transverse link.... The only part of the Z suspension that we'uns over on this side call the transverse link is in the rear suspension that connects the rear mounts of the control arms...

If this is what you are referring to, they are interchangeable, although the 280 has a bend in it for more clearance for the R-200 rears our 280's had...

Hi all and thanks for the replys,

The confusion arises, i think, due to the many various names for the same parts....

Here are a couple of examples of front suspension terminology and what different sources call them. (I know they refer to the same item as the sources I have used include pictures of the parts in question)

FSM: Transverse Link

Haynes Manual (UK): Track Control Arm

Victoria British: Control Arm - Lower

MSA: Control Arm

FSM: Compression Rod

Haynes Manual (UK): Radius Rod

Victoria British: Tension Rod

MSA: Tension Rod

I have also heard this being called a T/C Rod.

FSM: Stabiliser

Haynes Manual (UK): Cross Member

Victoria British: Front Cross Member

MSA: Cross Member

FSM: Suspension Member

Haynes Manual (UK): Stabiliser bar

Victoria British: Front Sway bar

MSA: Sway bar

The FSM's interpretation of the last two components I have listed, what the FSM refers to as the Stabiliser and the Suspension Member, is so confusing I am wondering if this is a typo in the FSM.

Yep, transverse link aka control arm, the Haynes calls the rear lower control arm a transverse link.

I know this only because I had to remove the whole friggin thing to change the shoes in back, rotor was frozen solid to the center hub.

The FSM also calls the Front lower control arm the traverse link.
