This Wednesday and two weeks ago two 73's were auctioned and commanded nice coin, one was an automatic and the other a manual, both were clean specimens. They FWIW are on the BAT SITE.

Are you referring to the '73 auto discussed here, http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/51483-oh-my/

and here, http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/51478-bat-73-auto-goes-for-29500/

:)

Is this the manual you are referring to, http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-datsun-240z-5/

And yes I agree, both are nice.

I thought it might be goed to post some of the photos. The links work for a couple of weeks and them fail which makes the thread pointless. Pitty.

It is interesting to see an automatic go for so much, but I must admit it is in very good condition. It hasn't been messed with in anyway.

  • 2 weeks later...

That Blue one is beautiful, is the selling price considered high in the USA? In the UK that would be a very cheap 240Z .

Shhhh don't tell them their S30z's are cheap.... Or you'll ruin it for the rest of us! :)  :D

There was another S30 on BAT last week.  High milage and non-original (still very nice) which left to a lot of debate.  However, when it was all said and done it sold for $18000.  Just after the auction closed I called Hagerty and raised the valuation on my car. ;)

The good news to prices going up is it makes it more practical to save cars that would have been scrapped before. Corvettes got to the place where even the ones in junk yards were being sold and restored. I hate to see any classic crushed
