June 17, 20168 yr Author comment_497032 Found one for $280. Gotta go pick it up next Sunday. Pretty heavily varnished, but from the pics looks rust and dent free. June 18, 20168 yr comment_497063 I have a new 240Z tank that was ordered from a dealership, I don't know how many years ago. I have been keeping it if ever needed. I may end up selling it some day as I will probably never use it. I will never ship it though. Too risky. June 18, 20168 yr comment_497070 He's got me thinking about going out to the junkyard and finding a couple of tanks and cleaning them up and lining too. They are EFI tanks though but still, $200 to $250? June 18, 20168 yr comment_497075 EFI tanks are usually more desirable because they have larger ports and are used in a lot of Hybrid swaps Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/51541-1973-rebuild/?&page=17#findComment-497075 Share on other sites

GreyHound Express is the best way I've found to ship larger car parts like tanks, glass and sheet metal. Not much chance of a gas tank getting dented in the belly of a bus. No room to stack anything on it. Everything I've shipped has arrived in good condition at around half the cost of UPS or FedEx. June 18, 20168 yr Author comment_497079 I've seen EFI tanks all over the place for about $100-150. The 240z tanks? Not so much. Lumens, where are you. If you're selling a never used tank I would consider driving as long as it's not crazy far. The mosquito bites I'd get at the JY aren't worth the trouble. Thank You. June 18, 20168 yr comment_497088 It's the 75-76 280Z tanks that are the hot item. They fit the 240Z's. The 77-78 tanks have the space-saver tire shape. June 18, 20168 yr comment_497098 What year did they put the vents into the hood? There's two out at the junkyard with solid hoods. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/51541-1973-rebuild/?&page=17#findComment-497098 Share on other sites
June 18, 20168 yr comment_497099 I'm not sure. I got curious about that when I looked at the pics of @RedBird. She's a 76 and has the non-vented hood. I'd take a guess at the year but knowing Z's that would be useless. I think it would take VIN #s to narrow it down.
