I'm glad you've found a "good" side to your ordeal with datsun parts llc. You're a glass is half full kinda guy, great quality to have.

So the compression rings were on the bottom? And the oil rings were cut to fit? If so, that has to be the absolute worst I've ever heard. Were the oil rings top and bottom rails installed? I won't even ask about staggered gaps.

Thats freaking insane man! This butt wipe needs to be locked up! My wife could have assembled the pistons right. What the hell?!

What a nightmare, thanks for sharing this with us. Hopefully your recording this here will save some other guy the heartache. That 1st drive with new new engine is going to feel pretty good.

i feel your pain. i went through multiple heads w/this guy that were assembled all wrong and finally built it myself.  the rockers fell right off and showered the inside of the head with bits & pieces. 

his assembly guy is not exactly "meticulous"...

I watched this episode of Gilligan's Island the other day and started laughing thinking about Al's "engine builder", if he actually has one.
