cardogman1 Posted March 17, 2003 Share #1 Posted March 17, 2003 Hello all got another question I was wondering if you could dose me with your knowledge. This weekend with the help of a Z expert here on Long Island I cleaned my sus took them apart and installed new Z Therapy Kits.Everything is fine just about. The car runs well. The only problem I still have is the Idle will not return unless I jump on the throttle. I know that idle return can be slow in these cars. If I adjust the Idle screw then once the idle goes down it's then to low. Before I jump the accelerator it's staying up at around 1000-1200 rpm. The Idle is set at around 750.Any Thoughts on this matter?ThanksBurt:stupid:
Victor Laury Posted March 17, 2003 Share #2 Posted March 17, 2003 Burt,The SUs are to set to idle completely off the center adjustment on the manifold. Contrary to popular belief, that adjustment is only used to test the carb balance off idle. Not too clear, I know. Someone will be better a "splaining" it. ZmeFly Posted March 17, 2003 Share #3 Posted March 17, 2003 they may be old, and worn, check them first. then check inside to see if your butterflies are sticking. also check your linkage and see if you have any binds anywhere that might be holding it up.good luckjames
