The yellow wire plugs into a black box (fuseable link?) that say's Hella (maker) 12v, 40a

Ok, That's a relay, added by the Previous owner to help the headlight curcit.

Your starter soliniod has three posts on it. 2 large posts and 1 spade post. The top large post will have the + battery lead connected to it and (At least) on other wire. That wire is the power supply to the fuse box. a problem there will show as no power to anything. The bottom large post will have nothing connected to it. Well, not really nothing, It will have a lead from the soliniod to the starter motor itself.

The spade connection is the signal from the key. Turn the key and 12 volts goes to this spade, energizing the soliniod which does 2 operations. It pushes out the drive gear to engage the flywheel and it closes the BIG 12 volt circuit to the starter motor.

If there's a bad connection on the spade connector, your starter will do nothing. Just like you described.

Well, after cleaning all those connections and re-connecting everything, i decided to find out where the fuseable link was housed (looking through Haynes Manuel). I found that this box, opened it and what do ya know, one of the damn things was disconnected!!!!!!!!!! How i do not know, put it back on and varooom, she started right up!

Now i am pissed off at the parts house that told me my solenoid was no good and that i spent 91.00 on a new starter/solenoid!

On the flip side, i have a new starter/solenoid and knowledge of all the components in between!!! Experience is everything and i got none (until now).

Thanks you to everyone that helped me here!!!!

Go U.S. troops, come home safe!
