L24 to L28 Swap

I just need to know what all is involved in switching from a L24 to a L28 I have a 1978 L28 and i have a 73 240z that needs to be rebuilt but i wan't to know if i should just swap them and how much of a change would it be could i use my cannanon intake and weber carbs would I have to swap the trans? Thanks

ROFL Iam in the process of doing just that. I in fact have a '73 and am installing a 54 block from a 82zx. In my case I am keeping the auto. trans . and the engine is from a manual. The engines and trans. are all interchangable. take a look at geocities.com2001/engine/html there is a ton of great information t here. :classic:

Piece of cake.It was made for a swap.The only gotcha's are You use a 240 in/ex gasket so it will cover the holes that the injectors use on the 280.I then used screw plugs to fill the exposed holes where the bolts that hold the injectors are.This just keeps dirt from filling them up.Also if you are using mech.fuel pump you must transfer the lobe that runs the pump to the front of the 280 camshaft.Thats it!!
