Does the hood release knob go on the side beside door bolts? On the passenger side the air vent knob is on the side. I see pics of the hood release knob on the side. Where is the other mounting location? On the bottom of the dash?

Hood release on the side, vent knobs hang from the dash mount brackets. You'll see two holes where pointy ended screws go in the bracket.
