Mystery fuel warning light

If you're looking to get rid of the redundancy, you could get the upper warning lamps from a 75. Left side says "CATALYST" and right side says "FLOOR TEMP". That way you could fill all the available locations with unique indicators.

I'm an idea guy. Never said they were good ideas though...   :)

I like the Aud/VW solution. They have several blanks for auxiliary switches in the dash. Various things such as front and rear Fog lights that are options. But they sell a matching accessory switch labelled " Funk ". I kid you not. Some guys use these to trigger their amplifiers or Methanol Injection ( Turbo's ) etc..

Bringing this back from the dead. But on a 1976 280Z does the Low Fuel light come on with the bulb test when ignition is turned on?  Everything else does except the low Fuel Light. Pulled it out and tested bulb in its harness. It does work...

The fuel warning light works via resistance dropping at the thermistor in the gas tank as the thermistor heats up. There is not another wire on the negative leg that could complete the circuit during engine start.
