I have a D6k8-02 distributor. The tangs with the threads don't line up. You can see in the pic the hole with the threads sticking out. They are supposed to be bolted together aren't they? The spacer's tang is at 9 o'clock when put in car. Should I have a different spacer? thank you very much.

There's no picture.  And most people use "tang" to describe the piece at the end of the oil pump shaft, down in the hole, that fits in to the slot on the bottom of the distributor shaft.  So not sure what you mean by tang.  There are no threads on the tang.  Or "spacer", since there's no spacer on the distributors.  Maybe you meant mount or base.  The ZX distributors do definitely need their own base, that bolts to the front cover.

Now that I think about it, I'm using the one that was on the 240 originally.  It ran better with the adjustment hole maxxed out towards the top, counter clockwise I think.  Patcon may be onto something there.  Maybe the ZX plate has more adjustment?  Maybe I need one! :)

I looked at mine yesterday and I'm NOT using the one that was on my '72 240.  The '71s, until August, didn't even have one according to this microfiche.

My '72 had the small cap one in this picture.  Now it has the L28E one.  I checked zcarsource.com and MSA with no luck, sorry.  Maybe somebody will help out, or you could find one at a junk yard?  Good luck.
