For what is rapidly becoming an annual tradition, Vintage Chrome  is once again proud to offer our fourth quarter/year end forum promotion for your plastic plating needs. While we did include metal parts with our promotion from last year, this year we will continue to focus on our core business of chrome plating plastic. 

 

We have had to endure 2 cost increases this past year, but have been able to absorb most of them without increasing prices. In fact, in the case of one of our most popular items (260z/280z taillight bezels) we have actually been able to generate a substantial price reduction by leveraging volume commitments. Another significant development this past year is we can now offer, for the first time, detail finishing on all parts that were previously painted by Datsun (such as emblems). Our detail team has even successfully replicated the resin-type "fill" that was used by Datsun on such parts as fender emblems. Now, you can have your original Datsun parts fully restored, instead of just chrome plated.

The Promotion will work as follows:

1. Turn-around times vary and are largely influenced by the size of the order and the sequence upon which the order is placed. Expect average turn times to be from 45-60 days upon our receipt of your parts. We will have two promotional shipments this year. The first is scheduled for November 2. The final one will be done around December 15th.

 

2. Pricing for many of the more common Z and other Datsun parts are listed below, but we also have the capability to chrome plate any rigid plastic piece, even if it was not originally plated by the OEM manufacturer. If you need this customized service, please email vintagechromellc@gmail.com for a specific quote.

 

3. The customer must ensure that parts to be chromed are disassembled to the point where only the pieces to be chromed are provided to us. No other preparation is required by the customer. All stripping and prep work will be completed by us.

 

4. Payment Policy: Payment via PayPal is due at time of order. Domestic (US) shipping and handling charges will be $9.95 per package. 

 

5. INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: Prices are the same as quoted here except non-US customers will be responsible for freight costs and applicable customs charges, if any. All orders come with a full customer satisfaction guarantee.

Examine your cores carefully before sending them to Vintage Chrome. Peeling or discolored chrome is OK, but parts must not be warped, have cracks, gouges or missing pieces in the substrate. We do not repair damaged plastic parts or re-paint parts after plating. Un-platable cores will be returned at your expense (if requested) or disposed of.

I wanted to update everyone and let you know that the next outbound shipment for chrome plating is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14th. If you need to have any of your plastic parts re-chromed, it is important that they arrive at the Las Vegas address by Thursday, Nov. 12. After this, there will be only one more shipment during this promotion.

 

Also, we are now offering gold plating as a complementary addition to our services. I am attaching photos of a set of Datsun 280zx turbo fender emblems that have been layered in 24k gold after being chrome plated. Gives the same, or better look than the ones Datsun originally painted gold. Naturally, we can do this to most any item we chrome, if you are wanting a customized ride. On a somewhat related topic, I do occasionally buy groups of emblems for re-plating and restoration myself. On a recent group purchase of "Z" emblems, I found a different Datsun emblem in the lot. Can anyone help me identify this emblem and tell me which model(s) and years that this emblem may have been used?

 

The piece stands approxinately 3" tall by 1.5 inches wide. Appears to be a grill emblem or hood emblem. The reverse side has two "tits", or mounting posts and a microscopic part number that I can't read.

 

I appreciate any help anyone can give me.

 

 

Appears to be a grill emblem from a Datsun 2000 Roadster, maybe.  If it had a mounting point on the bottom it could of been a hood emblem for the 521 pickup.  I need one for my 521.
