April 30, 20168 yr comment_493875 They look great. That's a pretty significant noise reduction. Heated seats, almost a requirement at this point, makes my back less temperamental. Love the stitching on the seats... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/52700-280z-interior-refresh/?&page=2#findComment-493875 Share on other sites

April 30, 20168 yr comment_493877 Seats look great! I'm was planning to get a pretty similar set from Interior Innovations myself, so I'm glad to hear you have good things to say about the seat covers. April 30, 20168 yr comment_493884 Those seats look awesome. So are there seat heaters in the butt portion too, or just the back? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/52700-280z-interior-refresh/?&page=2#findComment-493884 Share on other sites
April 30, 20168 yr Author comment_493888 24 minutes ago, Captain Obvious said: So are there seat heaters in the butt portion too, or just the back? They are in both seat sections. Due to the flap in the seat, I turned that one sideways so it does not heat the very front section ahead of the flap. You can also cut the heaters down to fit but I opted not to do that. April 30, 20168 yr comment_493891 Beautiful work, they look very comfortable. I bought Interior Innovations leather interior kit (everything but the seat covers), the quality is first class and I'm very pleased with it but I received almost no communication from them. A week after I placed the order and paid for the kit I had heard nothing from them, I emailed them to see if to see if everything was ok, they replied that they received payment and the kit would ship soon. That was it. 2-3 wks later the kit showed up in the mail. Not really complaining, just very different from your experience from yours. A lot of after market leather interiors use garment leather(thin) to keep costs down, I was very happy to see proper thick upholstery leather was used for everything. April 30, 20168 yr comment_493897 Do you have any pics of how you did the butt section heater? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/52700-280z-interior-refresh/?&page=2#findComment-493897 Share on other sites
April 30, 20168 yr Author comment_493900 I do and will try to locate them for you, since I did the passenger seat of a longer time frame, I misplaced some of my pictures. If you look at picture 5, the butt heater is located behind the crease in the seat where the flap is hog ringed down to the springs to give the seat its shape. Due to the flap, I rotated the heater 90 degrees & for each side, oriented it so that the wiring exited on the side facing the tunnel. The harness then runs under the tunnel carpet / console area up to the front to make the electrical connections. April 30, 20168 yr Author comment_493910 The switches come in the kit, 3 position rocker, Low - Off - High. Led on each lights green for low, red for high. I carefully drilled the console to locate the switches where they would not interfere with the choke mounting plate cable position. Never know, I might be tempted to switch to carbs on day ... April 30, 20168 yr comment_493911 S30driver has added upholstery to his magnificent resume of skills! I've seen Jim's efforts up close and sat in the finished product and can vouch that the material, workmanship and quality of his install would satisfy the even the most discriminating of us. His switch install for the seat heaters is perfect---very professionally done! To answer @sweatybetty -- although the switches came with the heater set, if you didn't know better you would think it was factory fitted! If you guys are looking for real leather covers for your seats, I don't think you can do better than the Interior Innovations set. I can see some additional sales resulting from this thread. Following Hardway's lead, these are great photos and documentation Jim, thanks!
