What do you think about this rear end?

That looks great!:classic:

My '73 240 has a total disaster for a tail light panel so I am going to cut and shut to my hearts content.:classic:

I have purchased the tail lights and rear bumper from an R32 Skyline and will graft all of the above into what's left of the rear panel.:cheeky:

It will be different for sure but it will also be modern.

The bumper needs about 12" sectioned out of the centre to make it the right width, but it and the tail lights match the Z rear contours remarkably well.

Besides my son has already used my tailights in his '73 restoration, they were better than his!:ermm:

Gavin, you have a fairly strong opinion there.

While we can sit back and express opinion, it really is back to the owner.

"It is my car and I'll do what I want!!":devious:

My scenario is just a styling upgrade which was required anyway since most of the original metal had gone west.

I try to keep an open mind on these sort of issues, but that doesn't mean I would jump at the opportunity to replicate the style that is there for us to see.:finger:

Ain't my cuppa tea mates. I like to see 'em kept as original as poss.

mmmmmmm, perhaps with the original bumper it would be O.K.

However, as Graeme said, it's really up to the owner.

After all, it was HIS cash.

Rick.

Sorry if it seems I've come across slurring you Graeme. I just love the way the 240z looks without body modification. I especially dislike wild body mods that make it look like a 80's retro rocket.

The original post was asking what we thought of it. I did just that told him what I thought. I agree your car do what you like no problems there.

As you can tell I luv my 240z the way it is . It's only because I feel the car is the artists impression I wouldn't take a picasso(think that'show it's spelt) and scribble on it cause I thought it looked ok that's just wrong :classic: .

Anyway not trying to preach just giving my 2Cents.

From the pictures I've seen your car looks like it will be very nice keep up the good work.

I take no offence, it is just my opportunity to build a Zed how I would like Nissan to produce one for 2003:love:

The car came with an L28EFI engine that was converted to twin carbs, so there was no way I could re-build to original specs.

Sooo I decided to renovate and modernise to my desire.:D

My son has a '73 with the original engine but that will sit in the corner while he builds a 3.1Lstroker with TWIN turbos!:classic:

Boy, it does get xciting!LOL

The Z above has R32 Rear lights I believe. The R33 are closer together and the R34 are different again. I have included a picture of what I'm on about.

I still prefer the original rear lights but I would however not mind the look of these either.

I do like the R33 GTR wheels on the one above very sexy indeed.

:classic:

Still can't stand the one above no matter how many times I see it.

It's up there with the rear hatch cut out treatment in the ugly department.

Gav240z - Is that blue car yours? I realy like the color & looking for something close if not that color. Do you know what that color is?

Thanks,

Jeff
