What is the correct procedure of removing the center console on a 1972 240z? Should i just first remove the shift knob, the boot and the 4 screws that hold it to the transmission tunnel? I dont have to remove the heater control panel to accomplish this? I believe the choke light cable was not connected to the choke lever when the choke lever bracket was installed. Need to check!

Anyone?

Put the trans in 4th gear. Remove the shift knob, remove/disconnect the door over the fuse box, remove the ashtray and remove the screws. Heater control panel and shift boot stay attached. You'll have to disconnect the choke cables from the carbs if you want to do more than just move the console around a little. This all from memory so someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Chuck

Do like Chuck says. Try to slide it back to the rear and see if that plug I showed you earlier is connected. Dont forget to remove the choke handle with a small screwewdriver.

Need to add. When you put that Singer flat mount on, you don't have remove the cables. It mounts everything to the sheet metal tunnel, no longer attached to the console. If I remember right. LOL
