Nice looking weld job on the floor pans. Gas MIG seems to be getting the better approval rating. Of all the shop equipment we sold with our business, the welder is the one I have missed the most. That Eastwood 135 model would be quickly paid off just doing a few small side jobs for people's mower decks, yard equipment, or other miscellaneous repairs. Thanks for the tips, John-Lugoff, SC.

That looks good. Are you doing a series of single tacks or short sections of weld?

 

Thanks, wish I could say all my welds turned out as good. And they're a series of single tacks, but done in a half moon, overlapping pattern.

Definitely worth the price that welders are going for now. If you could get some side work done with it as well, you're right, it'd pay for it's self and then some.

 Ok, I'm convinced. Putting in my order for an Eastwood 135. The reviews, versatility & especially the price changed my mind. The very wise father of a friend of mine once told me, " Every new project should start with a new power tool". I'm looking forward to comparing flux-core & hard wire in the same conditions.  

One caveat to my earlier recommendation of the Eastwood welder would be, the welding gun. I just noticed that mine was cracked yesterday. And although I can't pinpoint exactly when it occurred, I'm not super rough with my tools so they must break somewhat easily. Nothing a little electrical tape couldn't fix, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

I bought the Longevity Mig 140 on amazon, as a step above the eastwood mig135 (in my opinion). 

My first mig welded and am getting better every time I do something. But so far its been great.

I would have loved to have gotten a 220v mig, but my tool barn isn't wired for 220v.
