What are you paying for gas?

I just paid $2.20 for 89 octane at a Chevron station.

Too high when you consider that California produces most of the gas we use here. Maybe the high price of gas will force the astronomical price for a fixer upper house ($300,000) down!

Yup, Georgia and South Carolina have always had the lowest prices on gas and other fuels as they have some of the lowest state taxes on them....

Anyone else hear on the news braodcast a couple nights ago, the price for a barrel of oil has gone down 14 dollars a barrel since last month? Anyone notice a drop in the consumers prices? Half of our problems are right on Wall Street, with all these people trading in oil futures..:cross-eye

$1.50 in NY. Indian gas, no tax.

Bush has nothing to do with oil prices. The price of oil is set on supply and demand and fluctuates greatly with any certainty or uncertainty with world events. What conspiracy is next, little green men in Roswell? :alien:

OKay Bambi

In Oz we had all forgotten about the word crikey until young Steve started wrestling everything he could get his hands on (food for thought?)

Cobber - old word meaning friend (subsitute can be mate) not sure of origin

Jumbuck - Sheep - not sure whay they call them that :bunny:

The olden words sometimes raise their head and you are never sure who thought of them. There are usually a dozen stories on their meaning.

You blokes (men) would have the same problem like "dime"

If you believe that, I have beach front property to sell you in New Mexico.

In case you hadn't noticed, the pump prices routinely climb immediately when "uncertainty of supply" issues hit the news. Long before the oil purchased at increased prices hits the US shores. On the flip side, when the per barrel price of oil drops like it has in the past 2 weeks, the price remains at the elevated levels for a long time, usually well after the lower priced crude has hit the beach. Gas prices are set by the Oil Companies acting in colusion with each other to squeeze the public for all they are worth.

If you lived in Caifornia where the mergers oil of companies over the past few years has virtually eliminated competition, you would see first hand the situation that we experience every day.

Bush's friends who run the oil companies from the executive board rooms know that the Bush government will not act to stop the price fixing unless the heat is turned on HIGH to force their hand.
