November 25, 20159 yr comment_481610 You did the test for the clutch fan in post #9, in post #10 Cliff confirmed that your clutch fan is good.It doesn't matter if you get NASA to build you a clutch fan, it's not the problem. In post #7 psdeno ask you to check the direction of the fan blades to make sure they are moving air in the right direction, have you done that yet?In post # psdeno asked what is the temp rating of your thermostat and when was the last time it was changed, have you answered those questions yet? When was the last time the rad or engine was flushed with a coolant cleaner. People here are offering you good advice, have the courtesy or focus to act on that advice. November 25, 20159 yr comment_481616 Hmmm...low or no oil pressure and the engine temp is high? I'd be more concerned about the low oil pressure. Figure out why it's low and then look at your coolant system. November 25, 20159 yr comment_481621 I also mentioned the low oil pressure in post #3 and didn't get a response. November 25, 20159 yr Author comment_481638 Havent checked again but the oil pressure gauge moves to the center when i speed the car on the highway! Could it be damaged also? November 25, 20159 yr comment_481647 Based on experience with this exact issue, here are suggestions starting at the lower cost ideas. Start cheap and then work your way to the more expensive items. This is assuming you don't have an oil problem. Replace your thermostat. Check again. Check your timing - cars that are out of time run hotter. Replace the fan clutch. Check again. Replace the radiator with a higher-row-count (yours may be clogged or internally rusted). Keep us posted! November 25, 20159 yr comment_481656 Havent checked again but the oil pressure gauge moves to the center when i speed the car on the highway! Could it be damaged also?Oil pressure sending units on Zs are notorious for reading quite low or just being inaccurate. You may want to consider replacing your sender at some point.Denni s Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/52864-leaving-the-car-at-idle-in-the-garage-for-20-minutes/?&page=2#findComment-481656 Share on other sites
November 25, 20159 yr Author comment_481672 Thanks! What about doing a complete flush and wash of the radiator? Its a 3 row radiator purchased by PO on 2011!
