December 27, 20159 yr comment_483581 Looks like mine which I know to be correct. There should be the number 4 embossed onThe head of the weld-in machine screw. December 27, 20159 yr Author comment_483583 im curious as to why the strut isnt just attached to the part that this bracket is attached to. any ideas? thanks all sb Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/53027-strut-bracket/#findComment-483583 Share on other sites
December 27, 20159 yr comment_483593 Its all about geometry - the pivot point / base for the strut has to be away from the hatch frame to kick the hatch up from a closed position. If the base was tucked in close and parallel to the frame, the strut would be pushing back and not up. December 28, 20159 yr comment_483619 Check to make sure you have enough spot welding 'meat' to hold it in place. The 73's were famous for breaking off, ask me I know.
