Posted March 25, 200322 yr comment_31288 I've noticed that Z's don't have much clearance in the rear for wide tyres. Maximum looks like 215's. Does this sound right? How do people overcome traction problems with high power Z's without chopping the chassis?Cheers Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/5307-traction/ Share on other sites
March 25, 200322 yr comment_31291 225s fit fine...to fit bigger, you need a nice coil over setup, so that the struts are thinner, and therefore leaving you more room to fit bigger rims..also the japs do it, by, putting the ZG flares on the car, and get some mega deep dish rims, which looks crayz, if you want to get more traction, but want 215 wide tyres, get good quality tyres, like semi comps, such as falken azenis Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/5307-traction/#findComment-31291 Share on other sites
March 25, 200322 yr comment_31299 15 x 8 wheels or a 16 x 7 wheel without having to buy coil overs. leaves for a wide variety of choices in tire sizes Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/5307-traction/#findComment-31299 Share on other sites
March 25, 200322 yr comment_31370 you can get at least 245's on with coil overs, i have coil overs on mine and there is a lot more room than stock, though i only run 225's. March 26, 200322 yr comment_31405 I have 18" x 235 with coil overs with only about 4-5mm to spare from the springs.Rims are 18 x 7.5 with a 24mm offset.I had to slightly flare the front guards (5 hits with a hammer) as on the track the tyre was catching the guard. Now it's all good. :classic: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/5307-traction/#findComment-31405 Share on other sites
