help ID car

The other day at the grocery store I saw a car that looked a LOT like a 240Z. I was driving by and didn't find any clear emblems but on the back it had O P E and then another letter missing at the end. The shape was very similar to an early Z (I don't remember the headlights) but the back instead of being curved out it was kind flattened or curved in, and maybe a different color. ANy ideas?

Yup I think that's it! I'd never seen one before. I just did a quick search for pics - that's a funky looking car. Weird headlights...

We had lots of those around North CA when I was a kid. I remember thinking of them as a small Vette. Because the shape, headlights, and tail lights are very '68 - early '70s Vette like. It is a much smaller car than a Z and good luck fitting a V8 in that one without using cutting tools!

My vote would have also been that you saw an Opel. Sharp little cars! But I still have to find myself a Z!! That's where my true desire is.

I remember when I first saw one of these in 1970. It was about the same time I saw my first Z. I like both of them and thought I need to get one of them sometime. 21 years later there was a Z in my driveway.

Same here. When I got to high school and started thinking about a car I considered a 914, a Fiat X1/9, and an Opel GT. I'm sure glad I got a 240Z instead.

My friend also has an opel gt. I don't mind them but i can tell you my 240 is way faster!!
