June 23, 20177 yr Author comment_523778 The thread for those balance tube ports is British Standard Pipe Thread. I assume that the threads on your vacuum gauge were NPT. Did you re-thread one to match the other, or was the NPT fitting close enough to just crank it into place? Did you use a special paint, or is it just a trick of the lighting?
