New to this site. I can not find a good distributor cap and rotor with brass contacts for my recently purchased 1979 280zx. I have spent a lot of time searching.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think you'll find a cap with brass contacts, mine are all aluminum looking, but the rotor buttons are brass.  And they came from O'reillys or Advance like Zed Head says.  They won't have them on their shelves but can get them overnight.  Get some NGK plug wires and plugs when you can.   Tons of information to be found on here but get ready to read through it all.

Welcome to the forum, let's see that ZX!  There's a great group of guys from Georgia on here.

I have a brass electrode cap on my engine.  It's BWD brand, made at the same place as Standard.  Turns out Standard makes two styles, a brass electrode model, and a T series aluminum.  The T series is the economy model.

Arnie probably found one and won't be back.

Thanks so much for the info.I will get a picture on here as soon as I can.Only had it a few months. New struts;fuel injectors;fuel pressure regulator;Taylor plug wires;ngk plugs;front calipers;shifter bushing; temp sending unit. Didn't get the part about "Arnie probably found one and won't be back.

Groovy.  Looks like Amazon sells those too.

When I'm trying to find a picture of a part I usually get on Rockauto.  Lots of pictures, instructions, and part numbers.  You can either buy there or take the part number elsewhere.
