Mike did not tell you that the whoosh-inhibitor is connected to the wobulator shaft - Check the bearings on that while you check the whoosh-inhibitor. See your manual for location on your model of car, it will be in the Trouble shooting section.

Good move. I had this same problem and the new clutch turned my car into a totally different vehicle! The performance was a lot better because the engine didn't need to push the fan all the time. You'll notice that your temp guage will run slightly hotter as well.
