Most accurate air cleaner decals

My understanding is that it's quite a process for a business to get set up to process credit cards.  You have to set up a merchant account through your bank and this involves an application process. You also have to purchase or lease processing equipment through your bank that is tied to a modem in order to receive instant verification if the card is approved or declined at the point of sale. In addition, there are a lot of other responsibilities that fall on the business that deal with credit car processing.  So with this in mind, I can't say that I blame Mike for not accepting credit cards; however, he really should get set up on PayPal, it's really a quick and easy process that doesn't involve all of the hassle and red tape of processing credit cards. And, it makes it a lot easier for his customers.

Has anyone else had problems with Mike's air cleaner decals peeling up on the edges?:excl: Les used Mike's decals on my car when he restored it and the air cleaner decals are peeling.<_< I don't know whether it was the decals or the some prep problem with the air cleaner.

Hi Jerry.  I've used Mike's decals on my air cleaner with no problems..

i think a good wax and grease remover product should take care of

the pealing issue you are having.  Make sure you place your decals on

the flat surface as decals don't do well covering compound curves

which will cause the edge to pucker.

Les, powder coated the air cleaner which did not match the original orange so he then painted it. I don't believe the he would have waxed it prior to applying the stickers but I could be wrong. He applied the stickers in the original locations. I contacted Mike and he said for me to contact Les since he purchased the stickers. I don't mind buying another set I just want to make sure it is not throwing good money after bad. It seems, by reading this post, that mine is an isolated problem.

The adhesive on decals will breakdown over time and might be a cause of peeling.  A quick fix is to apply clear nail polish to the edges of decals right after you apply them.

My plan is to apply the decals, then spray the air cleaner box with clear to seal everything in place.

Speaking of air boxes, Mike at Banzai Motorworks is again selling orange air cleaner paint in aerosol cans.  I just bought some a couple of weeks ago.
